At 7:50 AM in Brazil, a 46-year-old female patient was encountered in the postoperative period following liposuction and abdominoplasty.

The patient exhibited persistent tachycardia and orthostatic hypotension, prompting concern for significant blood loss.

Given the urgency, a bedside test using RevDx was immediately performed.

The RevDx device identified markedly low hemoglobin (HGB 6.80 g/dL) and hematocrit (HCT 20.50%) levels, indicating severe anemia.

Based on these immediate results, the clinical team decided to initiate urgent transfer and preparation for blood transfusion, despite a venous blood sample being sent to the central laboratory and its results still being unavailable.

When the conventional laboratory test results were eventually reported, they confirmed:

– Hemoglobin: 6.5 g/dL
– Hematocrit: 19.8%

These results matched the RevDx findings, validating the accuracy and reliability of the device.

This case clearly demonstrates that RevDx can provide fast, dependable, and actionable information even in uncontrolled, real-life clinical conditions with significant hematologic abnormalities and in life-threatening situations.

Its performance enabled early intervention at the point of care, potentially improving patient outcomes by avoiding treatment delays and even a loss of life.

The patient is in good condition now due to the rapid intervention.
